Do you have any advice on how to help my friend who's mother just found out she has cancer?

His mother has advanced colon cancer that has spread to her liver and lungs and has just started treatment. I want to be supportive to him and his mother. Any suggestions?Do you have any advice on how to help my friend who's mother just found out she has cancer?
There is very little that you can do to take the shock and pain of the situation away. You can, however, do some small things for them such as cook them meals once a week or offer to take help take her to her appointments. I do not know what the situation is and how old everyone is here, but you could also offer to come over and stay with her while your friend goes out.

If none of these things seem right to you, send cards to her once a week . . something that she can enjoy. Call and ask if there is any garden or lawn work that needs to be done. Get together with other friends and give a gas card to help with the costs of transportation. Give a phone card to help out with the costs of calling people. Those are all small, supportive things that you can do. Most of all . . do not forget about them . . people can survive with cancer for a long time. After a few months, people tend to forget about the cancer patient. So, try to do something weekly to show your support.

Good luck.Do you have any advice on how to help my friend who's mother just found out she has cancer?
Psychiatry visit is absolutely necessary and helpful.
I would purchase a special type of tea called Essiac tea. It is an alternative cancer treatment that was originally introduced in 1922. It has been kept hidden because of the billions of dollars the cancer researching hospitals, doctors, and nurses would lose.
obviously, there were many guidelines, there were nothing we cannot solve problem, advise her that pray for her mother, keep watching her day after day, and the most importnt thing is always be there side by side with her mother..... physiologically, that will improve the mother's willing to get better.

Find out where they can get Professional Councelling and refer them there.
Hi, Chatting

Pray for your friend and his mother everyday and be as supportive as you can. My brother has lung cancer and I just try to be there for whatever he needs even just to talk to or cry on my shoulders if needed. It's really hard dealing with at times but you just have to have faith and stay strong. Please keep us informed as to how him and his mom are doing. I also forgot to mention I seen where someone else here named Realist mentioned Essiac Tea, my brother was just told about that also and that it builds up your immune system. My brother bought some of it the other day at a health food store and he's going to try it as well.
try to support her as much as you can. if shes feeling donw, cheer her up. thats all i wanted when my dad had cancer. but he died last year it was so hard to get over it.
I just found i am in remission,so there is hope.Just being there for your friend and believe me the power of prayer really helps. Also go to the American Cancer Soceity,as they could put you in touch with different support groups.Your friend%26amp;Mom will be in my prayers.

Try Vitamin C therapy. A few years ago a cancer specialist came out with a paper that said the best cancer/infection fighter found to date was Interferon. At the time it was $15,000 a gram. The paper also said that Interferon was a by-product of the natural breakdown of Vitamin C in your body. Shortly after that the FDA tried to make Vitamin C by prescription only. Guess why? The FDA has the RDA for Vitamin C set at 64 mg a day, just enough to ward off scurvy. Linus Pauling, who got a Nobel Prize for his work with Vitamin C and a second Nobel Prize for Organic Chemistry, said that 1000 mg a day should be the minimum and 2000 mg a day if you are sick or smoke. He played tennis almost daily until the day he died at 96. Personally, I got sick twice a year for 2 weeks at a time, for more than 20 years, with something to this day the doctors have no idea what it was, but for a week in the middle of those 2 weeks I was flat on my back. I started Vitamin C therapy once I gave up on the doctors. I took enough to be asymptomatic for those 2 weeks. Too much and I got diarrhea and too little and I got sick. Within a narrow range, and it followed a bell curve over those 2 weeks, I was not sick. At the height I was taking 40,000 mg a day and 300,000 over the 2 weeks. After 2 years of that I have not been sick since 鈥?more than 15 years. Vitamin C acts as a natural diuretic so you need to drink a lot of water and watch your body in total, but my kidneys did not dissolve as the doctors predicted, or get massive kidney stones as other predicted. I did not dissolve my bones as some predicted or completely calcify my joints as others predicted. I had no side effects at all. It might be something to consider.
