There are some things in my life that I want to give up in order to draw myself closer to Be more like Christ. I don't want to go into too much detail but I do need some good christian advice. Scriptures would help and so would testimonies. God Bless.Need Help an advice To Follow the Doctrine of Jesus Christ.?
Depends on what you are talking about. It sounds like you already know that you need to give it up! Give it to God, tell him that you need the Holy Spirit's help to rid you of this issue and God will lead you down the correct path! Need Help an advice To Follow the Doctrine of Jesus Christ.?
deny yourself, take up your cross and follow Jesus.
you are crucified with Christ.
my key suggestion isn't salvation or ';just believing,'; it is obedience and seeking a relationship with Jesus.
being ';saved'; is never enough. Knowing Jesus is the key (Matthew 7:21-23)
Follow Christ Himself, not just doctrine about Him. Strive to walk in fellowship and friendship with Him and to know Him. He has said that apart from Him we can do nothing so sometimes we frustrate ourselves seeking to be a little holier on our own strength or seeking to somehow merit a something from Him. Its the truth that sets us free and He is the way the truth and the life.
No, but thank you for playing.
In the Christian walk of faith we are to fill our lives and minds with the affairs of God and our Christian brothers and sisters. At church we find those that share the same love and zealousness for our Lord Jesus and is where we have joy, speak of and practice our Christian faith. By filling our lives with Christian things, thoughts and actions we by default push out the earthly lusts that vie for your attentions into perpetuaity.
What does the Bible say versus what people want to believe! The entire context of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the early church was one of unity and support of one another holding fast to the teachings of our Lord. The concept of inividualism and lone worship of a god that one chooses to worship doesnt exist in the Bible.
Hebrews 10
24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the 'assembling' of ourselves 'together', as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Act 20:28
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
Rom 15
5May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of 'unity' among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, 6so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Mat 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Act 1
14These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
Act 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Eph 4:11
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
