How do you bake potatoes? Can someone help or advice ?

I

wash potatoes,

set them on pieces of foil,

add a chunk of butter,

add salt,

wrap the foil around them,

put them in a preheated oven

[on rack or cookie sheet]

for about an hour (or until tender).

You can prepare them the same way and put them on a grill, turning occasionally.

Use the melted butter, in the foil (after baking), as a potato topping. How do you bake potatoes? Can someone help or advice ?
Most people don't realize this, but if you wrap the potato in foil, it is NOT, I repeat NOT a baked potato. It becomes a steamed potato. This results in a different texture than a baked potato. Do NOT wrap potatoes in foil to bake them.

To make a BAKED (not steamed) Potato:

1: Put foil in the bottom of your oven to catch anything that may drip off the potatoes.

2: Preheat oven to 350 degrees

3: Rinse potatoes under cold, running water and scrub off any dirt.

4: Poke holes in potatoes with a fork. This releases steam so they cook evenly all the way through and the skins don't bubble.

5: Coat outsides of potatoes in oil or butter. This flavors the skin and makes it all crispy and yummy. (I usually use olive oil)

6: Bake potatoes directly on oven rack until cooked through - between 40 and 50 minutes depending on the size of your potatoes.

7: Serve with lots of butter, sour cream, bacon, chives, cheese, etc!How do you bake potatoes? Can someone help or advice ?
Tradionally, you would bake them for 45 min to an hr in a 450 oven. I microwave them on high for 7-8 min (longer for several potatoes at once) and then bake for about 20 min in a 450 oven.

btw, most like Idaho and russett potatoes for baking
i like my potatoes soft inside but nice and crunchy outside, peel %26amp; wash potaotoes %26amp; roll them in corn flour (which you have added what ever herb you like into) put them in a baking dish with some olive oil %26amp; bake till golden brown, should take about 1 hour, depending on what tempreture you use. To cook them faster, steam them in the microwave first before you roll them in the flour.
Just wash them thoroughly set oven set for 375- 400 bake until soft all the way through.Oh yes don't forget to poke it with a fork on all side to keep the skin from bubbling
Stab the potatoes deeply with a fork. This is to allow moisture and air out during baking so the potatoes don't explode. Preheat the oven to 350. Put the potatoes in the oven on rack. Done in about an hour, depending on how cold they were when put in.
Well take a potato .... you with me so far... Put it in a microwave oven or real oven....still there..... start microwave oven or oven.... Check the potato in a few minutes.... cook longer if needed. Add salt, pepper, butter, sour cream, etc...

You can also wrap in foil and throw in a camping fire until the outside is black.... Caution it may be hot....
wash and bake at 350 until soft, you can wrap them in alum. foil, but i just put them on a pan
