I think I just sorta made the decision to become a lacto-ovo-vegetarian. I'm young (13) and if you are a veggie out there PLEASE give me some food and snack ideas that are okay to eat, and are also good. Also, it would be great if you could list things that are easy to cook or buy, especially in a family of omnivores. I'll try anything! Anything will help! Thank you so much!New Vegetarian Help and Advice?
You sound like me :3
1. faze meat out gradually, don't just stop eating it--you'll hurt yourself doing that.
2. don't stop drinking milk unless you have to, especially at a young age--this is very serious, but try soy milk (and other soy products) if you'd like
3. fruits and veggies -%26gt; best snack foods
4. I have a PB sandwich for lunch every day
^it's a complete protein
5. Rice and beans have protein, but each has different amino acids--you need to eat them together(like the same day) to have a complete protein... I eat Zatarains black beans %26amp; rice often (and it's only like $1 a box)
6. Are you going to rule out fish? Fish is excellent for the body, but I can understand if you don't like fish--it's not that great. Recently though I tried this Gordon's Fisherman minced fish-stick thing (it's in a yellow box in the frozen isle) and it wasn't half bad when covered in BBQ sauce/Ketchup.
7. Don't overload yourself with carbs. It's not healthy and it builds fat that you won't have the energy to burn it off if you're not eating adequate amounts of protein.
8. Take protein supplements and vitamins until you stabilize a healthy diet.
9. HIGH FIVE ON BECOMING A VEGETARIAN!
%26lt;3
10. Carrots are good. I've never taken the time to explore their nutritional value, but after eating them I feel wayyy better.
good luck
hope this helped ^^

Congratulations and Good Luck!
Try veggie burgers and veggie dogs. I'm no vegetarian (even though I wish I was one), but I have tasted veggie burgers and they tasted better than beef burgers!
Make sure you consume alot of fibre and stuff like that.
Vegtables are essential. Lentils are great for this, and can be used to make a vegetarian meatloaf etc. Look on the web for some recipies and remember that at your age being a vegetarian is fine as long as you manage it. dont become vegan keep up having alot of diary and eggs if you become really tired or ill you need to change your diet regime or consult a doctor. Im a vego too and i admire what your doing,
good luck

If you go to the supermarket in the frozen foods look for the morningstar brand its all good. My favorite is brocolli and cheddar nuggets. sounds gross but im not even a vegitarian anymore and i still like them .

Main things I eat besides veggies and fruit is cheese pizza, grilled cheese, pretzels, Peanut Butter (Jelly) sandwiches.
Ramen noodles without the flavor packets, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti noodles (ragu sauce).
So many options.
oh! And wheat thins/triscuits are awesome to have around the house to munch on.
