My grandaughter is 3 mos. old. She is breastfed. Having trouble sleeping. Can not seem to keep a pacifier in and now sucks on lower lip to self sooth. Her MD suggested pacifier, but she spits it out. Dont force her then- shes only 3 months let her suck herr lip if shee find s that more soothing. of coarse she doesnt sleep much shes breastfed and breastmilk is absorbed quickly and babies grow fast. my son is over 7 months and breastfed and always hated pacifiers. besides pacifier produce a greater risk for ear infections. why get her stuck on something you're gonna have to get her off soon anyways
She might be starting to teeth! Give her some baby orajel on her gums, and see how that works! Good luck!
Self-soothing is just that: self-soothing, not pacifier-soothing. There's no need to introduce a pacifier. Some babies simply don't like them--especially those that are breastfed. Mom is always nicer than something plastic.
Why do you think she's having trouble sleeping? Breastfed babies naturally wake more because breastmilk digests so well. Can you describe her sleeping habits in more detail so we can help you figure it out?
Try putting a flavor on it....even breastmilk...at least to get her sucking on it. My Son Never took a NUK though but a couple times. The breast really was what soothed him.

Can't get Captive Beaded Ring back in rook-help and advice?

More info would be helpful...is the piercing fully healed? Are you having trouble getting the ring in or placing the bead? If it's fully healed %26amp; you can't get the ring in, i'd suggest lubing your ear up w/ some liquid antibacterial soap %26amp; keep on trying to slide it through. ive changed my rook piercings (i have 2 in same rook) a bunch of times but the first couple tries were tricky.. the older the piercing is the easier it is to change, just because the skin is healed and used to having a ring in. the key is to get the right angle. depending on how the piercer angled the needle depends on which direction the ring has to be angled. sometimes its easier to go from top down or from underneath up. if youre trying to put a barbell in it's usually difficult to do it yourself because of the small parts. if you really want your ring back in and cant get it yourself, you can always go to wherever you got it done, or even some other piercing place and theyll usually put it back in for you no charge (just make sure you give a tip!)
also if the rook is swollen from being poked with a ring that wont go in, hold an ice cube on it for a few minutes, itll help with the swelling and pain!

2) Pour 1/4 cup of any type of floor cleaner into both the toilet and tank. (My favorite is Mr. Clean)
3) Allow to sit 10 minutes.
4) Using the Magic Eraser clean in toilet and tank.
This works great. I just purchased a home recently and the two toilets looked like someone tried an experiment in it. There was so much rust, mineral deposits, and unexplainable plastered to the toilet. When I did this, everything came out clean and I hardly used any elbow grease. It looks like I bought brand new toilets. The best is I only spend under $5.
You need an acid to clean a really dirty toilet because of the minerals in the water have combined with the organics.
You can try CLR first, available at grocery stores. Then there is a Muriatic acid from Hardware stores cut 2 cups acid to 4 quarts of water/ Wash out with brush. The toilet will be spotlessly clean.
Bleach wont clean stains out of a toilet, you need an acid to do that.
The best way with the least amount of effort is, The Works, you can buy it at WalMart. It only cost around $1.00 and works on the most disgusting of toilets. Make sure you get the liquid not the cling on stuff, cling on doesn't work.
Purchase a toilet brush and toilet cleaner - Put the cleaner in the toilet, flush and then use the brush to make sure it is spotless.
Assuming it is not really bad, Just some scouring powder and a toilet brush or rag and some elbow grease.
If it is badly stained, you may need to use a pumice stone.
Pour some bleach in it, leave it for an hour or two then flush your problems away. Don't mix it with scouring powder like clorox, that will cauze a chemical cloud. Good luck with those stains.

basic betta care is pretty simple if done right. you really only need a gallon for your betta but more is better. you dont NEED a heater but to have one is good, your betta will be more active when the heater is on. you dont need special water but you need to de-chlorinate it with water de-chlorinater or age it (leave it out for 2 days) and the chlorine will evaporate. you should get some gravel (from a pet store) and a small plant(they like to sleep on them or hide). you can get a filter if you want but it isnt nessecary. you should get a gravel cleaner but a little one because it cant suck up your fish. you can feed him flake food, pellets, freeze dried food, frozen or alive. any of them will do but freeze dried blood worms and alive is the healthiest. you shouldnt put the tank in direct sunlight or youll get algae which is a pain in the **** to clean. the most common deases of betta's are swim bladder bloat or fin rot and NEVER put to betta's toegether at any time unless your spawning them which takes alot of time and alot of effort plus another tank filter etc. to heal these problem you can eater get bettafix for fin rot or medicine for bloat. A suitable tank would be a 2 1/2 gallon or larger. They can live in smaller, but the 2 1/2 is a good minimum size because it is the smallest body of water that can be reliably heated. Bettas really do need heat, not having it can nip a couple years off of their life span, as it leaves them very susceptible to disease. They will also be a much more entertaining pet if they aren't too cold to move. A good temperature is 76-82 degrees F.
Bettas are carnivores. What that means in the pet world is that they need special food for Bettas to give them all the nutrients they need. Flakes are okay, but they can sometimes cause constipation. Pellets would be a better food. And you can also feed bloodworms every once and a while as treats. It is a good idea, to lower the risk of constipation and swim bladder disease, to have a fasting day once a week.
Their water needs to be changed once a week at the very least. Sitting out your water will get rid of chlorine, but not the deadly chloramine that most places now put in their water, so a water treatment is a must. I use aqua safe myself. Prime works too.
When decorating the tank, keep in mind that Bettas have very fragile fins. Most plastic plants can cut them. Therefore, when choosing plant decor go for either silk or live. And of course, keep in mind that Bettas will kill others of their species.

Personally, I think recreational SCUBA diving is doing a fine job of promoting itself. And I also don't think we want just anyone suiting up and getting in the water - not everyone has the temperment to be a diver. So I don't know that the ';industry'; needs to grow any more than it already is.
